I always fan each string slot to it's respective tuner, which eliminates binding and "pinging" in the nut slot.

Your nut is essential to great tone. A poorly cut nut or a bad nut material will almost certainly be a tone sucker.
I have a variety of nut materials available:
Bone, Tusq, Carbon Fiber, Graphtech, Locking, Wood, Rolling, and anything else you can think of. Each of these materials have unique tonal qualities that should be considered when choosing your nut material. I do not offer plastic nuts because the cost of a quality nut material is basically the same, but produces a much better tone.
Whenever possible, I try use solid blanks and avoid any stock or preshaped nuts. These cost more from the supplier and they are rarely cut the way I like, plus every guitar is different so why go with a stock nut? You’ll actually save money by using a blank and having me custom fit it for your guitar.
